Spiral roving reduces pleat flex and fatigue, maximizing the surface area for filtration and increasing contaminant retention. A nylon center tube prevents metal particles entering the fuel system as contaminants from filter manufacture process. Molded end caps eliminate possible leak paths seen with glued end caps.
